As the festive season approaches, we’re reminded that Christmas is not only a time for celebration but also a time for giving. This year, our staff has once again shown its generosity and community spirit by supporting Hope for Food’s Reverse Advent Calendar Appeal, a thoughtful initiative designed to bring comfort and essentials to individuals and families who need it most.
A Meaningful Twist on a Classic Tradition
The Reverse Advent Calendar reimagines a familiar Christmas tradition. Instead of opening a window each day to receive a treat, participants are encouraged to give one item daily throughout November. By the end of the month, each box is filled with food items and essentials that will be included in Hope for Food’s Christmas parcels.
These parcels make a tangible difference for people in our local community, offering both practical support and a reminder that they’re not alone during the holiday season.
Coming Together for a Worthy Cause
We are incredibly proud of how warmly our staff embraced this initiative. Donation boxes were placed in each of our offices, and our staff filled them with a wide range of items - from cupboard staples to festive treats and everyday essentials.
Seeing everyone come together with such enthusiasm highlights a shared commitment to supporting the community around us.
Delivering Hope This Christmas
All donations have been delivered to Hope for Food’s depot, ensuring they can be sorted and included in Christmas parcels in plenty of time.
We’re grateful to everyone who contributed, promoted the appeal, or helped coordinate the effort. Your kindness reflects the true spirit of the season and will bring much-needed warmth and reassurance to local families this Christmas.
